Teasdale Travels: April 2005

13^th Today is the first day of spring break for the kids. We left and drove to Delta Utah about 3 hours away. The drive was okay and we have driven through so many small towns. Delta is a big town compared to the others. We are camped in Antelope Valley RV PARK ($20 full hookups ) Its Wednesday and they are our night to eat out. So we went to this Mexican restaurant, and after that we went to the local theater to watch the movie the pacifier with Vin Diesel. The kids enjoyed it.

14^th Today we are going to go looking for trilobites. We went out to U-dig (about an hour from delta) What a drive that was we packed into our car full of Teasdale ( Dave, Sabrina, Paul, Alexis, Marisa, Tyler, Trenton, Emma, Seth) About 30 miles into the middle of nowhere and then we had to drive down a dirt road for another 20 miles! It was a fun dirt road with lots of ups and downs. When we finally got there, we paid $20 an adult for two hours. $12 per two hours for kids 8-16. But the man running the show -jean- gave us a discount. He only made us pay $40. Then he gave us a rock hammer, and I had goggles for my family and away we went! While we were walking we found some on the ground. But when we started digging we found some pretty cool trilobites. Alexis and Trenton were having a hard time at first. It isn't very easy to whack the rocks. We spent our two hours there. It wasn't very warm. Good shoes and jeans are a smart idea. We all had hats on too. The kids said they had a lot of fun. Except for the drive. After we got back the kids played in the grass and Dave and I played catch with the gloves. We cooked hotdogs on our drill since there are no firepits! That stinks! Its been pretty chilly since we've been here.. but fun. I had a rematch with Tyler playing connect four. In California we played and he never could eat me. So we played 10 games with him winning 4 and myself winning 6! We are going to play again tomorrow night.

Alexis.. Safety First

15^th TAX DAY$$$$ Today we went to look for Topaz Mountain. We loaded into the car again ( Dave, Sabrina, Paul, Alexis, Marisa, Trenton, Tyler, Emma, Seth ) In the magazine they made it sounds like you could find a good topaz lying on the ground. HA! We walked around that mountain forever! The only topaz we found were little flecks embedded into the rocks! It was very disappointing. The drive up there was just like yesterdays! Before we got to Topaz mountain we stopped at the topaz Japanese WWII internment camp. All that was left was the cement foundations. There was a monument there it was an interesting place. As we were driving to Topaz Mountain Dave pulled over and we shot his shotgun. Dave, Paul, Alexis, Marisa, Trenton, Tyler and Myself all shot it. We shot at a coke can. It was fun. There have been a lot of butterflies around. The girls have had fun trying to get them. They have even caught a few. Trenton has been enjoying the climbing of all the trees. But the camp host yelled at the kids for climbing. But they gave her a card that said Sorry. We roasted mash mellows and made S'mores yummmmmm. Tomorrow we go home.
