16th Today we drove down to camping at palisade state park. We
went camping with our friends the Hills. Dave, Raquel, their little boys Blake
and Kyle. They also had their friends there. We got here about 4pm. Its dry
camping so we didn't have to hook up. After a while we went shooting. It’s such
a small town that we drove for a while and were out in the middle of nowhere.
So we got out the clay pigeon shooter and went shooting. That was really fun.
We got back and had tacos and made s'mores when it was dark. It was pretty
windy so we didn't hang outside for long.
17th This morning Tre was waking everyone up. Boo
hoo for all of us sleepy heads. So I made pancakes for us after breakfast we
walked down the beach and threw rocks into the lake. We skipped rocks. Dave
skipped some rocks really far. It was pretty cool hike. After our hike the kids
wanted to go in the lake. We have a little raft that we let them use on the
lake. Alexis did really well using the oars. Tre had fun swimming in it. It was
a little cold. Valerie enjoyed Alexis rowing her around Alexis stayed in for
about an hour. She rowed out really far to get to this swim platform when she
got there, she got on it and did a little victory dance. It was very
impressive. Afterwards we came back to
camp and tried to figure what every else was doing. So we could plan the rest
of our day. Well we made lunch and then just sat around. Dave and Raquel’s
friends were leaving and the Hills decided to leave as well. Dave and I were
really put out. They invited us up to camp and then they bail out on us. We
tried to be ok about it, but we were still disappointed. So after we helped
them pack up and after waiting for an hour to go to dinner with them, they
decided not to go- we left and went into Manti to get something to eat. We went
to a local diner. Not much for $20 not so sure if it was worth it. Afterwards
we went to the golf course by the campsite and hit some balls on the driving
range. That was funny because I did horrible! Dave did okay. We even let the
kids try it was cute. When we got back to the trailer, we played Frisbee for
awhile. Alexis and Trenton went and collected trash for the Jr, Ranger program.
While they were out by the water they found another little frog! It was cute.
They named it Tarzan. No frogs were coming home with us! So just like the other
two, it went back into the lake. Even though the camping with our friends
wasn't very good, the camping and the campground is pretty good. We may go
around the lake again tomorrow before we leave. I would love to get some
pictures of the views and the trees with the kids. Very beautiful!! The drive
down here was beautiful too all of the fall colors is such a nice sight to look
at. This may be our last camp out before we winterize our trailer. If so, I
hope next year is as fun camping as this one was!
