22nd Our first trip of the new year! This time we have a new
member of the family traveling with us. Ryan Matthew Teasdale he joined our
family in February. Today we left sometime after 1pm to go to Canada. We are
making this trip to British Columbia because Davids Grandfather passed away.
Frank Martin. ( Davids Mothers Father ) So we trek up for the funeral. Today we
drove through northern Utah and into Idaho and Oregon. Which is cool because
the kids and myself have never been to these places before. ( 3 states in 2
days! ) We made it all the way to Baker city Oregon which is where we stopped
for the night. We are traveling with Paul so we stopped at a Truck Stop to
sleep in our RV's. It was okay, Dark but noisy with all of the semi trucks by
us :\ Its also late and Ryan has done pretty well for such a long drive ( 500
Miles :) ) but he is hungry.
23rd Today we got an early start ( around 8am) and after a quick
stop to McDonalds, off we go! Its been a pretty drive. We came into Washington
today. Such tall trees in the mountains. Very Pretty. Driving through the
mountains in Washington we saw a lot of orchards and in the higher parts there
was a lot of snow on the side of the road. Taller than our car! They get a lot
of snow. So glad we had nice weather driving through that pass. In Seattle it
smelled a lot like pine with all of the pine trees around. Since we are crossing
the border we all need our Birth Certificates. Since Ryan isn't very old. I
didn't have his, so I had to go and get it at the health Dept ($15) Well, the
day before we were planning to leave I couldn’t find it at all. No clue where I
put it. I was stressed out! (still am since I haven't found it ) So we had to
get another one! ( Another $15) Grrr. This kids are excited to go to Canada. To
see their cousins and go see a little of where their Dad grew up. Too bad we
won't be going to Vancouver Island. ( that is where he really grew up ) Maybe
next time we decide to drive the thousand miles well go there. This trip is
going to be a short one.
I never finished writing this trip down so Im not sure what
we did on what day! We visited Dave’s Sister Michelle and camped at a cool
campground 10 min from her house in the woods. It was neat because it has some
trees growing in weird formations it looked like the kids hideout. This kids
called it Yoda’s hut. We visited an old time candy store that had candies all
the way from England. Candies that Dave grew up with. The kids enjoyed having
Turkish Delight. Like in the book the lion the witch and the wardrobe. We went
to place called White Rock its a beach. It was so Windy! It was so windy that I
got a horrible headache! So pretty there – we went to a giftship and got some
patches we also went to Doc's Fish and Chips and had the BEST fish and chips
ever! I loved it SO much <3 p="">

We also visited Ken's mushroom farm. Where he works. It was
pretty cool. The kids enjoyed it. They all brought some mushrooms back home. We
bought a lot of Canadian Candy bars @ Costco. On Sunday the 26th of
march was the Funeral for Dave's Grandfather. It was really nice but really sad
too. We visited with Dave;s older brother Mark and his family after the
funeral.
It was nice to spend some time with them. I really like his
wife Nina and their little boy Carsen is a sweetie. A rainy day. On Monday we went to IKEA.. I
could of stayed there for a long time. It was my first IKEA store. Afterward we
went to science world. It was pretty cool the kids really enjoyed it. We left
to come back home on the Tuesday the 28th Long Drive home.
