June 2005

22nd  Today we drove down to Manti, Utah. It only took us a little over an hour. We went through Spanish Fork canyon on Highway 6 and then took highway 89 all the way to the Temple hill Resort. It’s right below the Manti temple it was really neat because right before we entered Manti, you could see the temple and it was gleaming so brightly, very beautiful!  We got here and just have been hanging out. The kids and Dave went swimming and I pushed Valerie in the swing set at the playground. After dinner we went to get ice-cream. We drive through Manti. Such a small town I loved it. The old homes, that small town feeling! I told Dave that I could live in a small town like this. Before the kids went to bed and after they’re in bed Dave will read the book he always reads to them while we are camping : The Chronicles of Narnia. They look forward to hearing it. Tomorrow is Alexis' 10th Birthday. Wow and tomorrow night we are going to go and see the Manti Mormon miracle Pageant. I'm excited to see it. I hope the kids will enjoy it.

23rd Alexis's 10th Birthday! In the morning we had waffles! After breakfast Alexis opened her gifts. She got a CD Player, a new outfit, a purse, a bed light, and a squishy pillow. She also opened a card her Aunt Charlene sent and a card from her Mom, Dad, Trenton, and Valerie. With $10 inside! The kids went swimming at the pool here. It also rained and hailed really hard in the late afternoon. Around 6pm we went to the temple grounds and got the seats for the pageant. We walked down a block or so and had dinner at some of the booths the locals had setup. It was good Alexis and Dave had some Turkey dinner. The pageant didn't start until 9:30. It was really good the kids seemed to enjoy it. They didn't even fall asleep. It ended about 11-11:30 tomorrow we are leaving it has been a fun trip.
